Restoration of a brass figure

Woman seated, from 1868 A.D.

The figure was cast and assembled in several parts. We have repaired the following damage to the brass figure: The left arm was reconstructed using the lost wax process with cast brass according to the customer's specifications and illustrations (with grapes in hand). There were several groove-shaped impact marks on the face and upper body. These are filled, ground and polished using a welding process. Signs of restoration are barely visible here. Connections were loose at the waist. Here we created new threaded holes and attached the waist.

When the figure was in our studio, one of our customers saw the damaged face and said: If you dare to repair this face, then you must have a very good knowledge of plastic surgery!
