King of clay

Restoration of a clay figure of a king

Symbolic figures of the scene of Bethlehem

From 1940 AD. One of the 25 clay figures of the Catholic parish Mariae Himmelfahrt from 35274 Kirchhain. Read the feedback from customers about the restoration of this object, guest book page 18. We have restored a total of 25 nativity scenes from the parish of Emsdorf. These are made of clay and artistically painted. As an example, we have set three of these figures here. All 25 figures showed more and less damage, breaks, chipping, missing organs (such as ears, fingers, etc.). In addition, the lacquer layer on some of the figures was very porous and had little adhesion to the ground. Therefore the porous varnish was removed from the figures. The figures were then painted true to the original and then preserved. The preservation acts like a protective shield and protects the figures against external environmental influences.
